What is EdTechPosium?

Welcome to EdtechPosium 2017!

EdTechPosium, formerly Moodleposium is a yearly Canberra-based educational technology conference with a focus on higher education and VET. The conference is organised by a committee comprising members from the University of Canberra, Canberra Institute of Technology, the Australian National University,  Australian Catholic University, the University of New South Wales and the Australian Defence Force. This year will be the 9th ‘posium’and will be hosted by UNSW Canberra, at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA).

This year’s theme is “Fitting the tech to the teaching”, and is organised across three streams:

With so many possibilities in the technologies you might use in your teaching, and the teaching approaches you adopt, strategising is more important than ever. The sessions in this stream will focus upon long-term, integrated development approaches to delivering your programs even better than ever.

Okay, so you’re facing all sorts of demands from your boss to improve delivery of education, training or development. However you going to do it?

In this stream you can learn from the best.

So you know pretty well what works and what doesn’t, how do you now put that knowledge into a everyday practice?

Topics might include:

  • Emerging technologies and how they can be applied in your workplace.
  • How to embrace new technologies to revitalise old teaching approaches.
  • Strategies for working with large student cohorts.
  • Strategies to deliver more and better via distance or blended mode.

Topics might include:

  • Tools and techniques for engaging more effectively than ever with students.
  • Putting personalised learning into practice.
  • Managing work-integrated learning.
  • Partnering with the students in program and course design.
  • Implementing augmented and virtual reality in education.

Topics might include:

  • Mainstreaming innovative teaching technologies.
  • Generating and using learning and learner analytics.
  • Gamifying your courses and programs.
